And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE… This is my name forever; this is how I am to be remembered generation after generation.

Exodus 3: 14-16 (AMP)

The name of the Lord is like a strong and mighty tower where the righteous run for their rescue. But what is the name of the Lord? Is it just a label or title? No, it is much more than that. Essentially, it represents the character and nature of the Lord. The Hebrews called His name Adonai, which means the Lord God. When the Lord revealed Himself to Moses at the burning bush, He introduced Himself as “I am that I am” and explained that this is the name He wants His people to remember Him from generation to generation.

Is your perception of God a distant and impersonal deity? Or is a loving and present Lord who can be whatever you need Him to be? While Elohim is supreme over all creation, the Lord God is intimately involved in our lives, caring about our concerns. The question is, do we recognize His presence and honor Him for it?

There is a hidden principle within us that leads us to gravitate towards our own perception of God. This applies not only to individual Christians but also to our Christian community. May our thoughts toward the Lord be high ones, thoughts that never insult His loving nature toward us. His thoughts toward us are precious and countless, a testament to His unfailing love.

If you have distanced yourself from the Lord due to life’s challenges, it’s time to change your perception of Him. The Lord is present around you, paying attention to you, and His lovingkindness is more significant than life itself. As you surrender your life to Him, He will give you a tender heart toward Him. Step forward on the right foot and face every challenge that life presents. Remember that the Lord is the great I am, and “The I am” is always ready to be what you need Him to be!
