Turning the Soul

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple

(Psalms 19:7KJV).

The sole of one’s foot can be very rough. And why not, feet bear the brunt of our weight and often our misdirection. But without them we could not stand and fully navigate our world. Our feet show the wear and tear of life and are often the first indications of major diseases such as diabetes and arthritis.

Like your feet, your inner soul can be rough. There are few days when your soul does not endure the weight of something. Angry words, moody co-workers, and unruly children can all be rough on your soul. Its condition is vital to the way your life is turning out. Some very nasty stuff can stick to your soul and before long you get stuck in the middle of “stinking thinking”. Unable to realize the fullness of God’s abundant plan, you remain in discontent and disappointment.

The seat of your emotions, thoughts and intellect is your soul. Your soul wants to direct you but in reality it is not capable of leading you into the paths of peace and righteous living. Your soul can misguide you and lead you to heartache, which can breakdown your bodily health. Because of this it's crucial that your soul be converted, turned back to God in every area of your life.

If you want to know how healthy you are, look inward, to your soul. You may see some cruel things for often your soul is your inner critic. The Lord will restore your soul, but you must cooperate with Him as He shows you how He sees things. In Christ, you have a new way to live and move, one not driven by emotions or reasoning, but by a higher intellect, one led by the Holy Spirit. The turning of your soul to God though difficult will move you beyond your highest expectations. When your soul turns after God, goodness and mercy will follow you wherever your soles may tread.
