Pentecost Trumps Pandemic

Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry… until you are endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49 NKJV).”

As Covid-19 moves slowly off the scene, it leaves in its wake grief, pain, and fear. People wonder will things ever get back to “normal.” Will we no longer hug one another or shake hands? Will large gatherings cease to exist? Is football as we know it sacked for future generations? The questions linger along with the stubborn darkness that perches in the minds of many. Fear increases on daily doses of death counts and dismal media accounts.

Satan rages in our nation to bring division and hatred but let us not forget the Lord is near to all who call on Him. The devil is a spirit of death that harshly controls people. No wonder suicides have spiked during this pandemic. Satan is the viral villain that delights in human sorrow. Yet in all this depression, the voice of the Lord shouts, “Make way for me in your life!”

Crises are opportunities for change. In Christ, there is no darkness at all. As we walk in His light, we will have fellowship with one another. The community of faith displaces isolation for insulation. Jesus prophesied that the love of many would grow cold as a sign of His second coming. The perfect love of God casts out fear. The Lord desires the death angel to pass-over every soul. Pentecost is here to remind us of the dynamite power of the Holy Spirit. May Jesus saturate you with the Holy Spirit, your Helper, and Counselor on earth. May you experience Pentecostal power over death, hell, and the grave, amen!
