But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law (Gal. 5:22).
When you’re about to go south on yourself for your mistakes or worse still believe you are a mistake take a moment and meditate on who Jesus is. He is your Savior, Intercessor, and Creator. He laid down his life for you because he loves you.
We read in John 3:17: God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. The world has enough condemnation in it already. Jesus came to fulfill every obligation of the law so that through him we too could escape the heavy penalty of our refusal to obey his law.
Jesus is not your “get out of jail card” or “ticket to heaven” rather He is your way to live now escaping the perversion and exploitation of this present world. There is no condemnation in Christ to those who walk according to the Spirit. When we walk according to our emotional responses to anger, doubt, bitterness, or the lie that says, “I am not good enough” we continue down a path of ultimate misery. Jesus is good enough, and he has no bitterness in him. Stop surrendering yourself to your emotions fueled by toxic thoughts and surrender to Christ instead.
Bowing down to emotion creates monster gods. Don’t destroy your life by making them your idols. Fleeting feelings are not reliable. Jesus’ joy is your strength and stability. In your weakness he is strong and his grace is sufficient for you.
