But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands (Ex.20:6).

God is an extravagant Father lavishing His love on you. Jesus crucified for you, suffered physical, mental and spiritual pain. He gave His all for you that you might know Him and receive His kingdom. You are the treasure Jesus went out and found. You may know little of Jesus the Christ, but He is your savior whether you receive His love poured out for you or not.

Sivan, this month, is the third month of the Hebrew religious calendar. God revealed His nature to His people by giving them the Ten Commandments in this month. God’s law illustrates His character. God is love, which is the central focus of His covenant. God loves you but if you feel unloved consider this: do you love God? Scripture makes it clear that God is close to those who are close to Him and He loves those who love Him. Is your heart devoted or divided toward Him?

Holy Spirit no longer engraves the law of God on stone tablets but on the heart that belongs to Him. Sivan is said to be a month of revelation. Ask the Lord to give you more revelation of His lavish love. To know God is to love Him. Apostle John wrote, “We love Him because He first loved us.” You are His treasure. Is He yours? Embrace Him, respond to Him in kind and show your love by obeying Him.
