Love Trumps Fear

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us.

(1 John 4:16)

There is nothing more draining, paralyzing, or hindering than fear. People controlled by it destroy their relationships and joy in life. Worry is like prayer, but unlike the prayer of faith, it is the prayer of dread. The fretful have no peace and cannot find rest because they refuse to leave things in the hands of God. Simply stated, fear for believers is a lack of trust in God that He totally loves them.

Fear has a voice. It whispers within your soul, “God isn’t enough, He won’t come through for you.” Apostle John wrote, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love”(1 John 4:18). Beloved you must come to know God and His love for you.

Is there a particular field of your life that you doubt God’s provision for you? Your love for God is not yet made whole in that area. Do you lack trust in God with your finances, difficult family situations, or future challenges? Wherever torment is, a wound remains. Jesus will heal that wound, as you trust Him to supply your every need. That is how you come to know God and love Him with all your heart.

Beloved you must come to know Jesus Christ. The more intimate you become with Christ, the greater your love will be for Him. His love for you is already complete but your love for Him is not. In every aspect of life, as you surrender it to God, your love for Him will mature because you see He will not fail you. Submission is the way to have eternal life, to know God, and Jesus Christ, the one He sent to earth.
