A Spirit-to-Spirit Battle

The truth is that, although of course we lead normal human lives, the battle we are fighting is on the spiritual level (2 Cor. 10:3).

The fight is on! Why is it that the enemy of your soul roams around seeking whom he may devour? He is hungry, and His appetite is voracious for your faith. He dines on your faith, as you doubt the goodness of God in the land of the living. He relishes every bite of the confidence you’ve gained from previous victories due to the intensity of your present temptations. He savors every morsel of your trust as He distorts your thoughts and rips through God’s vision for your life. If the devil consumes your faith, he swallows your success leaving you confused, discouraged, and in despair.

Your faith in Jesus Christ is crucial for, without it, you are lost and cannot please God. If you lose your faith, it’s like going to the market without a penny in your pocket. Faith is the currency of heaven. According to your faith so is your life and that is why the thief comes to kill, steal, and to destroy it.

Pray if you do not want to be the devil’s prey. In Ephesians 3:16 Apostle Paul wrote: “that he (God) would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” The place where God resides in you is within your spirit, the inner man. The Spirit of Christ will expand your spirit enlarging your capacity to fully be as He is as you daily die to your fleshly desires and pursuits. The stronger your spirit, the greater resistance you will have toward the wiles of the devil. As your spirit develops your faith will too. Though your faith is small like a mustard seed, it will bear much fruit as your inner man becomes strong in the Lord.

You and I are in a spirit-to-spirit battle. We resist the devil not with our mind or intellect rather through the spirit-spoken word birthed out of our spirits born-again of God. The word of God is a seed and it will birth mighty works of faith out of us as we submit to God to do His will.
